Bath and Beyond Chair

3-6-08-bath-chair.jpg

We've seen couches made from clawfoot bathtubs — the lines of the antique design lends itself perfectly to tongue-in-cheek reinterpretation as a classic setee. It makes sense, then, that the more pedestrian drop-in tub, receiving the same treatment, would come out looking like an Eames armchair.

The drain in the seat and proven water-worthiness of the piece make it well-suited to the task of, well, being a bath chair, but we wonder if it would look kind of redundant and strange next to a tub serving its original function.

Well, if one were to remodel an old 1980s bathroom, tearing out the old drop-in to replace it with a super-modern shower-room and stone tub, here's one thing they could hypothetically reuse.

HATER ALERT! whoooo whoooooo (that's a storm siren)

I like this one.. the ones posted earlier weren't really my style.. but i really like the look of this. Its kind of a cold-war, airplane scrap-metal franken-chair.

though, i dream of living in a poured-cement cube, so my tastes are not exactly fancy.

okay.. the legs are ugly and the raw edges arent very nice. but the concept sure beats paying a ton of money for trophy-furniture..

Do these chairs gross anyone else out?

I can appreciate the concept, but they just don't work for me...

It reminds me too much of Fountain by Marcel Duchamp.

I think I love how much these polarize people even more than I like or dislike the chair.

Great concept and execution -- best of the bathtub chairs so far since it actually looks good... in a neo-machine-age, post-industrial repurposed-design sort of way.
I'm promptly adding it to my "gotta find some time to do it one day" list!

I like the ones that are more like a sofa, with colorful fabric inside. This one has a fun shape, but I would find it difficult to use anywhere. Maybe as patio furniture?

Maybe if it was bit more polished, I would like it as an idea, but now I'm just not thoroughly convinced...

Is it comfortable?
I wish one day they will build a bathtube that looks as a couch
