We are such proud parents. Just look at how much the little seedlings have grown! The tomatoes won't be ready for a while, but our lettuce was just begging to be harvested....

We happily obliged and had our first garden salad last night. We're just counting down the days for the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and strawberries....

We also wanted to share our favorite new garden accessory: the soaker nozzle (well, at least that's what we've been calling it). We searched high and low for one from a local nursery, but to no avail.

That's when one very generous benefactress (thanks Ma!) stepped up to the plate and donated theirs for our worthy cause....and the veggies couldn't be more pleased. The water soaks in to the ground and leaves the delicate leaves and stems dry and happy which means better and tastier produce for us....yum.

impressive! and i'm still only in the seedling stage :(

It's still feeling like the dead of winter in portland. I can't wait until the sunshine wakes up my sad little seedlings.
