Green Home: Tom's Umbrella Clothesline

Name: Tom
Location: Sunny North Oakland

Welcome to Tom, who figured out a way to convert his patio umbrella into a laundry day clothesline:

"I have a small (5ft wide by 20 ft long) balcony. I switch out my large patio style umbrella with a folding clothesline that looks like a spiderweb. It fits right into the heavy umbrella base and folds into a corner of a closet when not in use. [more pics below jump]

"The line cost me $50 at OSH, but I feel greener, and no longer run out of quarters on laundry day. Plus, my clothes smell like sunshine!

And yes, you can see the umbrella on GoogleEarth. :) "

Thanks, Tom!

Dude. They have had clotheslines like this for 40 years. No need to convert an old umbrella.
