Stair Cubby Bookcase

9-7-bookcase.jpg

Fill this Stair Cubby Bookcase up with books, or cool storage baskets, or beautiful art. Made of recycled teak, it'd make a great room divider, or it would fit perfectly into that nook under the stairs that's just wasted space.

$850 at The Wooden Duck.

I'd love this in a hallway -- great combination of storage/display!

That is beautiful and oh so useful. I would like to say, however, that That all Three major low priced department stores have little boxew that you can stack for the same effect and a fraction of the cost. I am frugal, what can I say.

I think when you're shopping at The Wooden Duck, you're also paying for the conviction that recycled wood = good consumer products. For some people, paying up to support a specific manufacturer's design/building process may be worth it.

I second Lisa. The department store furniture isn't in the realm of comparison with this stuff. Wooden Duck's furniture is 100% solid wood, and it's reclaimed wood, so is environmentally responsible. I'm not sure what this bookcase is specifically made of, but a very large portion of their furniture (and it looks like this may be part of it) is made from reclaimed teak. You won't find that in a low priced department store.

We purchased a custom dining table from them and paid more for it than we'd ever paid for a piece of furniture, but it was a wonderfully rewarding experience, and the table is so special!

If you sign up for the email list on the Wooden Duck's homepage you'll find out about the sales (30% off this item) which makes it a lot less painful and certainly nothing can compete in the way of recycled wood. These guys have it down.

Their next sale happens to be the last weekend of July (28th, 29th and 30th). I'm a big fan.
