a bamboo fence is not a good idea and NOT sustainable! Bamboo in most regions of this country is an invasive species and it takes over.

"Bamboo" as such is more than one (more than ten, for that matter) species, and some are invasive and some are not. It is negligent to recommend bamboo broadly, but some forms are quite sustainable and non-dangerous to local flora.

Now, Japanese knotweed, which looks just like it? NIGHTMARE. Egad.
