This Saturday is the 22nd Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day. Since the program started in 1985, more than 10 million pounds of debris has been removed from California's shorelines and coast.
Held on the same day as the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, the event focuses on both pollution cleanup and pollution prevention, educating and empowering people to become a part of the marine debris solution.
There are 700 cleanup sites in California. Find one near you
