West Coast Green

8-30-west coast green.jpgGet your calendars out. There's a lot going on in San Francisco in September.

West Coast Green, a three-day conference and expo, will be at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium Thursday-Saturday, September 20-22. The event includes over 250 exhibitors, presentations by 100 experts and leaders in the residential green building movement, and a fab prefab showhouse.

Check out the daily schedule here.

You can see the full list of speakers here. There are such familiar names as Allison Arieff, Erin Brockovich, Marianne Cusato, Debra Lynn Dadd, Eric Corey Freed, Sarah Susanka, and Woz.

(And you might even run into our almost-as-famous friends from AT:Green.)

One of the highlights of the event will be the mkLotus™ modular home on display at Civic Center Plaza. The mkLotus™ is the newest design by Michelle Kaufmann, architect of the Sunset Breezehouse™, and built by XtremeHomes™. It's an affordable, modular, prefab home with mid-range appliances and accessible alternative energy resources.

The major difference is one of focus. West Coast Green is focused on residential, Green Build (put on by the USGBC) covers all building types.
