Blogging the Chronicle: Fall Home Design Magazine

Sunday's Fall Home Design Magazine offered up four articles by Chronicle design editor Zahid Sardar. Bliss.

Be sure to check out all the photos.

Art on the Vine: Gallery setting in a guest cottage: A St. Helena guest cottage has a traditional look outside, but a modern feel inside -- complete with lots of art, a Le Corbusier table, and pieces from Crate and Barrel, West Elm, eBay, and a Paris flea market

Take Two: A humdrum elevator vestibule becomes an elegant space-saving wine cabinet in a Nob Hill condo: Interior designer Michael Merrill created "something beautiful with a unique purpose" for a wine- and liquor-collecting couple

Asia Minor: At the St. Regis, a clear view of the Pacific: A high-rise with 180-degree views of the Bay has "a vaguely Asian design, but one mixed with antiques from Ed Hardy and furniture by Saarinen, Eames and other modernist designers"

This Small House: A cottage setting makes room for imaginative design: A Noe Valley cottage (formerly a barn with a Victorian facade) became a comfortable family home that uses subterranean space, outdoor rooms, and lots of light. (We're not sure if we'd call 1,600 square feet small, but hey, we're still happy)
