There was more than a sprinkling of green in this weekend's Chron:

2007_07_24_thunderbirdlodge.jpgEXTRAVAGANT RUSTICITY: Mark S. Bacon visits the Frederick De Longchamps-designed Thunderbird Lodge in Lake Tahoe. There he uncovers a piece of gadget-geek George Whittell Jr.'s charmed life.

2007_07_24_renew.jpgAROUND THE HOUSE: Susan's green pick is Diamond's Renew plastic cutlery and her elegant one is Moen's Destiny, a hands-free sink faucet for the home.

Go solar -- after you've made other practical changes: Philip S. Wenz explains why installing solar panels is the last conservation-oriented change you should undertake.

On the plastic utensils. I'm happy that they're made from recycled plastic.

But how will most buyers use them?

Can something be "green" if it will never go away if not recycled again?

Just asking.

I have nothing against it being posted here, I just think the company making them is greenwashing.
