Very nice. I was beginning to think you'd never post a light I liked. Not my taste, I'd never buy something like this but I love the idea.

Nice, though I probably wouldn't purchase it (for the design) definitely not at that price point. I'd be interested in great lighting design on a real budget, lighting that is easy to find, including inventive DIY.

I saw a great piece somewhere once...it was an old chandelier with all the metal parts literally encrusted in various seashells, mostly in the soft pink/cream tones, and instead of crystals it had swags of strung tiny shells ( can find at craft stores, or old seashell necklaces at second hand stores)-it looked like something out of Davie Jone's Locker!!!Very cool and DIY!!

Rucy - check www.lightinguniverse.com
They have thousands of lights of all kinds and even if you only look at the contemporary ones you will be busy for a couple of days. They have some nice ones for under $500...
These are some of my favorites from my bookmarks :
Lamps Plus is a great place too. Selection is a lot smaller but their customer service is awesome. They came to my condo to replace a lamp I'd bought online and was defective and scrounged to get replacement parts for another ficture from one of their showrooms when I couldn't order parts for a ceiling fixture I'd bought from them.

Wow, thanks boomer, my dining area isn't large enough for some of the Lighting Universe examples you shared but amazing options at Lamps Plus. I'll spend some time hunting through both sites... Thanks!
