If you've already put together your Brussels sprouts Christmas tree, you might consider using any leftovers to whip up a wreath. Sure, you're not supposed to play with your food, but would you make an exception for this?

To learn how to make your own, head to Blomsterverkstad where, yes, there are basic instructions in English!
I like it OK - but I'd rather roast the Brussels Sprouts and eat them...

Maybe with a little browned butter......

I think it's beautiful but a bit too wasteful -- I hate throwing food out!

I'm with bepsf.
Toss the wreath with a little balsamic and olive oil, salt & pepper, 400 degrees and 20 minutes... tasty!

Mmm, charred brussels sprouts. That wreath would not last very long on my door. Cute idea for us farmer's market loving folks!

Loving this! Must copy.
Will have to buy enough to enjoy them cooked as well. Fresh Brussels sprouts are so sweet and tasty, nothing like the frozen ones my parents tried to convince us to eat as children.

If this would get me off the hook from making them for Christmas dinner, I'd start a wreath right now. My father is the only person in our family who likes them, and I have tried preparing them every possible way (including all of those mentioned above).

Totally hott. Love it. Great way to get kids to eat their vegetables.

brilliant. i love the contrasting tones of green.

I would love to eat them! I like the wreath better than the tree.

I think the wreath would make a neat way to plate them after they've been cooked...

Needs some chile peppers or sun dried tomatos for color pop.

Finally a purpose for the vegetables existence....

It looks pretty, but isn't this a big (or little) critter magnet?

Very hot, but down here Brussels sprouts are kinda expensive...

It does look pretty (they're such a gem of a vegetable), but I hate to see people wasting food.

"Hot" isn't exactly the right adjective -- it's cute.
They're my favorite vegetable so I'd rather eat them!

i suspect a lot more food gets wasted by people just miscalculating the amount they need, and throwing out leftovers ... i think it is a lovely idea :-D

LOVE IT!

Brussels sprouts are revolting little vegetables, so I am appalled.

Wouldn't this smell funky and cabagey after a few days?
view clh's profile
I have to admit, I had to think about this one. But I think I like it. It's something I wouldn't have thought to do. Now about the odor, how long would it take before it smells like a fart? Perhaps some rosemary sprigs in the wreath would be sort of a 'wreath beano'.
Wasting food? I don't think this is wasting food any more than using (edible) roses in a flower arrangement is. Or cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices in potpouri.

This is too specific. It reminds me of the cabbage centerpieces. I don't hang a wreath, and I don't know why I never have. Maybe because my mom liked them too much. All year round she had to scour the craft fairs for a perfect front door wreath, eucalyptus and grapevines and prelit fake pine boughs, and other things bound up in the round. I've never eaten brussel sprouts, not sure I would like them. I like cucumbers and celery. I think tomatoes wouldn't take kindly to the treatment. I like most kinds of lettuce and spinach. I'm not so sure about this post. It seems "funky." If I saw that on your door, I'd think you were trying to be off-center for the attention. I guess I might have a more traditional sense of the wreath, then again, vegetation of some sort falls in the category, even if it's vegetables. Since it's a specific post about brussel sprouts, I expect someone will think a wreath made of baby carrots is entirely different, and a wreath cut out of a sheet of looseleaf paper is a decent approximation.

While I appreciate the cleverness, brussel sprouts are too delicious not to season, roast and eat.

I'm all for ANYTHING that veers away from the usual tedious Christmas trappings.
One wonders why people feel compelled to hang rings of dead plant matter in the first place, but if you simply can't resist--- use Brussels sprouts, by all means!

I like it. But then again, I'm a foodnik, and a Brussels sprouts lover.
As far as the smell, these are raw - if it's outdoors and cold, they aren't going to smell.
Thinking about other vegetable wreath possibilities....

not a big fan of anything that will makes people do a double take of wtf. floating bookshelves...decorations made of side dishes....

I vote NOTE because food should be eaten, not wasted on a wreath.

The only thing that brussel sprouts are good for is tossing at you sister during dinner ;-)

I've never heard of so many people liking these vile things. I do think it's a pretty wreath, but I'd like it even more not knowing it's made of Brussels sprouts. I may actually make this...I'd rather stab them and string 'em up than eat them!

I would like to see the little green brussel sprout snowmen.
