Hot or Not?: Mansion Chandelier by Erich Ginder

I can see this making a positive contribution to right sort of commercial space -- a lounge or restaurant, say -- but as an object in and of itself, it leaves me a bit cold.

I think it's great looking at this moment, but I know in a few years I'd find it to be outdated.

it would be great in a loft or wide open space! Over a big table. Does it come in more colors?

As soon as I stop drooling I am going to try and figure out how to order one of these for my bedroom and then all the fly chicks will let me score. this is gorgeous.

Love it--but things get a bit too clever with the white antler setup behind it. One or the other, and all would be well.

Maybe I'm just too practical, but I can't imagine having to dust all of those curls and crannies.

Aulaire, Erich made those antlers in the background. As a friend of Mr. Ginder's it's nice to see his work being so well-received by the design community.

I have a coffee table with this sort of Chippendale cutout top under glass and it is a MAJOR dust collector. Planning to get a marble top at some point so I don't have to take off the freakin' glass top and dust it.

Also, the crannies catch my feather duster.

I think I'd love this in a glossy black finish.

Like the chandelier, but I think the antler hooks behind are ruining the overall mood for me. I can see how they're supposed to be thematically linked, but the chandelier is much more abstract and the hooks are too literal. So it's not just that they're competing, but that they have competing messages. If that makes any sense.
