What a wonderful site!! This is my first visit, but I will definitely be returning. Lots of useful information for living in small spaces.

I am looking to hire interior designer Kip Rodrigue what are your thoughts??

How did the Book Boxes from Pottery Barn make it onto "best of 2008" when pretty much all 30 comments about them were slams? Everyone hated them. On what grounds are they now "the best"?

ljbmonkey: I agree. Though they're probably choosing the ones with the most comments. I've noticed that's how they choose the ones for "top posts" too.

jklunk: Every once in a while they'll post an entry called "Open Thread" for each of the cities/regions, in which anyone can post anything. One of those would be the best place to ask your question (more people will see it/are likely to reply).

That's also how they monitor the statistics by which they charge for advertising. More clicks=good, even if it's not.
