"punk sensibility"?

Believe me (I know from experience), this place is waaaaaay too clean and "cute" to be a real punks place. And that's a good thing. The punk pads that I've (unfortunately) visited haven't exactly had an "appreciation for comfort, nostalgia and color", more like an appreciation for malt liquor, piles of garbage and shredded box springs.

Aah, cute Bizerkeley kids. It's got to be a challenge to decorate with 4 artists in the house. It's bright & cheerful. And Someone loves crocheted afghans more than my Grandma.

where is the white wall duck from?

I believe they told me that the white wall duck was from a thrift store. I found one almost exactly the same (except with colored doll eyes) at a thrift store in Pescadero over the weekend.

Sorry, but no. I'm all about thrift store finds, and they are obviously trying to be unique and different, which is good and they are definitely succeeding, but the thought of dusting all that stuff would drive me crazy. Some cohesion is OK, but, you know, that's just me.

The room with the glass wall is Alina's bedroom. It's one big master bedroom.

Awesome! This is one of the coolest houses I've seen on this site. I really like this kind of style. There is a good book that came out last year called "punk house" most of the houses are a lot messier that this, though!

I love houses that look lived in, my dream is to get my place looking like you can just walk in, grab a beer and crash on the couch for some good music and conversation.

My eyes accidentally skipped right over the "years lived in" header and went right to the names and years/months. I thought, what does that poor 8 month old baby named Vice have to look forward to on the playground and who names their baby Vice?! That'll teach me to read more carefully...

I actually got that "Dream" sign at a store called Therapy on Valencia st. in San Francisco! I felt really guilty/indulgent at the time for spending so much money on it! But I love it!

Great home...pllleeeasse show us more homes like this. I used to be a HUGE ReadyMade fan, and once I started getting more and more into "good" design, that love slowly faded away. But I want it back, and the only way to get it back is to see more spaces like this!

this is exactly what a young person's home should look like. LOVE: the pink hallway, the afghans, the unicorn throw, and the art (obv). BUT: i'm also confused about the glass between the bedroom and the other living room. is that living room another communal room, or is it mostly for the person whose bedroom is next to it?

I love the lived-in feeling too, it'd be great if AT showed some more "real" homes like this one. Not my style, but I can certainly see how you could be very comfortable in there.

Also, the glass wall is inside my room. It divides my bed area from the rest of the room. It's the house's "master bedroom".

this is awesome! of all the time i spend on this site i never comment, but now i feel i need to because it is so real; not done up, fun, and colorful. more real life, less minimal homes please!

I love it, all of it, but I think the couch in the last thumbnail has too many punks on it, When you sit down, you just have end up throwing half of them on the floor! But still where did you get the punk on the end in the blue shirt? I want one.
