How To... Create an Apothecary-Style Bathroom

We've been obsessing over this bathroom for a while now. We think it is something about the apothecary-style classic simplicity of everything that is drawing us in. Here are a few tools to help you create a similar look in your home...

  1. The room that originally sparked our desire for an apothecary bathroom, via House Beautiful
  2. A few of these Hovis English bread tins from Three Potato Four are perfect for bathroom storage. Or...
  3. Try a simple wire basket for collecting towels, bath supplies, or whatever you choose.
  4. Basic white penny (show here) or subway tiles help emulate the clean, pared down look of an old apothecary.
  5. The packaging of this tube of Marvis toothpaste is pitch perfect for the style we're going for (and it works really well, too).
  6. This tabletop mirror from Restoration Hardware has a steep price ($102 on sale) but we imagine its classic shape and sturdy build would be with you for a while.
  7. These Pottery Barn jars are almost ubiquitous in any apothecary-styled bathroom. You can personalize the look for your own space with vintage glass vessels, or these cookie jars.
  8. We're not sure if these honey soap bars strictly count as an "apothecary-like" accent, but they were too pretty not to include. We want a whole pile of them. (Image: House Beautiful)

The wire basket looks like it's missing some range balls.

How about those lovely brown tinted glass bottles? I would love to have those and adapter pumps or sprays.

They look great lined up on a shelf.

Wow, that is a beautiful bathroom but what an energy-sucking color. It really takes away from the details and overall beauty of the space, in my opinion.

why the hell is that toothpaste so expensive?? Looks like the same ingredients as cheaper toothpastes. I'm not about to spend almost 11 bucks for a pretty tube...

I have bought those soaps from time to time in green because they smell heavenly and have a nice lather.

I have an almost identical-looking standing mirror from IKEA. It's cute!
