The other elements in her home are elegant, chic and glamorous. While an eclectic and unexpected mix, there isn’t anything overly flamboyant. She leaves the drama for her wall color and a few other choice accents. This mirror could look too punk-rock, contrived or even cheap in another setting, but among a collection of couture shoes and clean-lined furniture, we think it becomes a subtle touch of eighties-inspired décor.
This piece would be easy to imitate. It appears to be as easy as brushing, spraying and dribbling your choice of bold-colored paint onto a large mirror! This DIY may not be for decorators with a more conservative style, but it seems that the possibilities are endless with how bold a statement to make.

I don't know about the mirror, but I can make a guess about why she has pink walls. She was a model, a muse, a great beauty in her time. Pink walls make a (Caucasian, at least) woman of a certain age look good. She looks pretty good anyway, though.

I can see doing that with some gold and rust colored paint. Maybe make the markings more "weathered" looking rather than obvious paint strokes.

Likely you wouldnt paint on the front side...due to the fact that you would be removing it everytime you used a window/glass cleaner. therefore, it is likely reverse painted glass...in French called Eglomise...it is done before the final silvering is done...makes for a lovely finish....I think its nice...not predictable ...and yes...pink flatters us...so why not!!

I think a key to this look is to have the mirror refelcting one of the colors painted on it. Move this to a white room and it would just look stupid.

current issue of domino. she's still a great beauty. pink is a sacred color in some of the eastern faiths. it is well-known for uplifting the spirit.

2009sunshine, there are galleries of downloadable photos of the Dalai Lama online. But the funny thing is, I was looking at some sites and came upon a comment from Richard Gere. Apparently the DL was upset by some of Gere's photos of His Holiness. The DL likes color photos, and in particular detailed, in-focus photos of himself. So he (He?) would not like the photo in this apartment at all!
