We loved this budget framing idea from local writer and AT:SF reader Anh-Minh.
She and her husband (this is a team project) used very large pieces of Plexiglas to sandwich an array of sepia photos, then wall-mounted them using six pre-drilled holes. The resulting panoply is dense with visual interest but also really dramatic at a distance.

brilliant!
I agree. I am hoping my daughter likes this idea for the wall behind her bed - great way to display her collages! Tks for sharing.
Oh I have a print with no border room that I've been meaning to do this for, were the edges of the plexiglass polished?
zurie - hmmm. i actually don't know if the edges were polished. since i didn't specify such, i'm guessing the answer is no. (our plexi isn't very thick because we didn't want it to be too heavy, and it's a rather large piece.)
oh it's a great idea! This is going to be my next craft project. Thanks.
