Last week, AT reader Kevin shared his great looking DIY tree branch chandelier. You all let him know how much you liked it, and nice guy that he is, he sent us in some more detailed photos and instructions (including a great pdf) for those who would like to give it a try. Is that CFL approved? Just kidding.

I used to have a similar thing. It was more of an art installation though. The thick branches had been sawn through in places and then reconnected with a dowel but with a couple inches spacing. The branch had a conduit whip wrapped around it with christmas lights. It was hung vertically in a skylight.

There are CFL candelabra bulbs out there - 1000bulbs.com carries them, including dimmable candelabra CFL's, plus LED candelabra bulbs.

Interesting idea - I just wish the wires weren't so visible. I'd mask them with some sort of vine or skinny branches.
