Ever wonder where magazines and catalogs find the rustic farmhouses and hip lofts and elegant parlors where they shoot their models? Well, of course film and photo shoot locations are a business in themselves, and these days a number of locations brokers list their properties online, complete with dozens of sumptuous photos.
Airspace Locations is particularly fun to peruse for inspiration; their site is set up to search by style (grungy, retro, minimalist...), type (farmhouse, warehouse, beach house...), and area (Italy, Morocco, London...). As you can imagine, this makes for a hefty chunk of good old-fashioned time-wasting, and hopefully some actual
inspiration for your home!
Airspace is based in the UK, so if you're as big a Living Etc fan as we are, you might recognize a few of the interiors on the site. But their locations seem to be all over the world, and they include businesses as well as homes. What's nice is that some of the homes actually look lived-in (if meticulously styled), so there is no shortage of interesting decorating ideas to be had.
If you've got a good chunk of time to waste—er, spend—then head over to Airspace and start your search. Don't say we didn't warn you!
lol at the "good old-fashioned time wasting" remark. It is funny you say that because as soon as I read about that website my mouse hesitated over the link as I thought to myself
"you know this is going to take up a lot of your time now?"
hehe I still haven't clicked it.

Thanks for the warning. I went there anyway. Wow. Oh well, I needed some nice imagery to take with me before crawling into bed . . .
