With springtime upon us, we always find ourselves gravitating towards bright, energized color. One of our favorite colors that infuses vibrancy and excitement into the home, whether used generously or just in small does, is teal. Here are some inspiring examples of using this color for a kick of energy...
• 1 At Point Click Home a bold use of color all around, dominated by royal teal.
• 2 Material Girls blogs about this chic home that Jonathan Adler designed for Liz Lange, and his use of teal throughout adds to the brightness of the space.
• 3 Flickr user jodi*mckee tagged this image of her home, which we love with the teal accent wall that helps her Tord Boontje lamp really stand out.
• 4 Fashion designer Nanette Lepore and her husband, Robert Savage's West Village home features small jolts of teal throughout at Point Click Home.
• 5 Living Etc. features these striking blue glass floor-to-ceiling pantry doors set against a white color palette.
• 6 A darker shade of teal set against gray floors and neutral colors makes this collection of postcards pop at Living Etc.
• 7 Murray Siple's beautiful modern tiled fireplace is done in teal glass tile, featured in Dwell.
• 8 House Beautiful shows a bedside freckled with photographs and magazine clippings set against a fresh teal wall.
Teal (my favorite color) seems to demand white and chartreuse (or some version of yellow-green) to accompany it, doesn't it?

I am actually painting my room a lovely shade of turquoise right now... well, I'm currently taking a little break from the painting. But I'm half-done and it's sooo gorgeous. I'm so glad to see this color popping up everywhere.

Sherry, I was JUST going to say the same thing! I'd add natural wood, too. :)

I like blue but the shades that I seem to gravitate to the most is turquoise, teal, ultramarine, and cobalt with navy for more conservative semi formal wear such as suits and blazers.

Just no Orange, Teal and White...
...unless you're decorating the Miami Dolphins lockerroom.

i've been on a teal kick all year. i agree with the white/chartreuse comment, and would throw in mustard and lilac into the mix

I've been drawn to the color in pictures for quite a while, but I doubt I would chose it for my own home since I like more muted colors. It is one of those colors that seem to work so well for people who have colorful spaces.

I love the color too, but I'm concerned how much of it I see. I don't want anything I coat it in to seem dated (avocado green for the aughts?) in a few years.

I think teal (especially as an accent in accessories) is pretty timeless, cashba. Like I said, it's my favorite color, so I have been watching it for years, and there have always been Egyptian faience hippos and turquoise sculptures from Asia and Native American cultures adding a pop of color to interiors. Plus it looks good with so many other colors that you can probably use it in various combinations that always seem fresh. (But, like anything else, I'd only get things you really love in a strong color.)
