We came across a wonderful roundup of tree houses on the Krisatomic blog. Some of them are so incredible that it would take very little to convince us to live in one. We also like the more traditional design of these tree houses. The beautiful settings and the feeling of being one with nature only adds to the overall appeal of tree houses. If you have a large garden with mature trees, a tree house could become a guest house or a children playhouse.
Check out the full roundup on the Krisatomic blog.

i will always have a childlike adoration, the swiss-family-robinson kind, for treehouses.

this is great, but....what happens when the tree starts growing? we built a deck next to a tree and over 15 years it grew into the deck and we had to cut into it to give the tree room to grow.

My ultimate fantasy. We've been talking about doing this in our woods in Maine forever. Maybe this is the inspiration we needed--thanks! (Here's a cool tree house hotel: http://treehouseshotelcostarica.com/costa-rica-hotel.html)
