Inspiration: Vanessa Dina's Home

Awhile back we did a post about Alissa Hunsaker Photography. We received multiple questions about the orange window curtains featured in the main photo. We came across another home that used the same fabric in the windows. It is IKEA felt, but they no longer carry this design. This beautiful home belongs to Vanessa Dina, a design director for Chronicle Books. Check out more photos after the jump.

The Design*Sponge blog featured a sneak peak of Vanessa's home. We love how light and colorful it feels. She has some unexpected decorations, our favorite is the SF MUNI passes collection. We used to keep them as well! Another one that we admire is her vintage bowls and dishes collection.

You can check out more photos and details about Vanessa's home on the Design*Sponge blog.

The MUNI cards are great! I've always wanted to do a large framed grid of them.

That first picture: The big black fireplace, the dramatic but simple window treatment, the cozy furniture arrangement...swoon.

Anyone who thinks painted brick fireplaces are a bad idea should look at this post. Beautiful!

This home has been in my inspiration folder since it appeared on D*S...and it's still in my top 5 favorites!

I love the fireplace (I've seen a LOT of hideous fireplaces in my search for a house, and I really like her painted one!)

And I also like the simple but useful coffee table. The pendant light is cool, too! It works perfectly in her space.

I am leasing and have a brick fireplace from floor to ceiling! Wish I could paint it like yours!!! Fireplace envy! Also I love your display of mixed pastel vintage dishes. Very cozy!

i have about 10 years worth of muni passes saved (yes totally a pack rat, i love looking at the minimalist places on AT in hopes i can be cured of this disease) thinking they would make some kind of great art project at some point, so nice to see some inspiration of that here.

one thing that troubles me about this space (and i totally love it overall!) is the pantry/dish shelves. the dishes are all so cute with adorable colors, but i am not sure how practical the set up is with the little trickets on display.

This is the most inspiring room I have ever seen. So very human and non hotel lobby-ish. Bold yet peaceful. I love it!

This is great... I never noticed the muni cards before! There should be a muni card craft contest somewhere... I'd love to see what people could do with them. I have no idea what to do, I just can't seem to let go of them b/c of their awesome jewel-toned modness.
