12 Easy Holiday Design Details
Canadian House & Home

12-12-08 easy1.jpgThis year we're just not feeling the love for red and green over-the-top holiday decorations. So we felt very inspired when we saw this gallery of 12 simple holiday design details with a muted yet festive color palette. For starters, these branches in a wide glass vase, and a few silver ornaments...

12-12-08 easy4.jpgAnother simple idea is a lovely -- in this case, vintage -- dish filled with ornaments.

12-12-08 easy2.jpgThis lovely mantelscape includes a mirror with cards slipped into the frame, and branches in glass vases.

12-12-08 easy3.jpgBattery-operated light strings and a few metallic ornaments look great in oversized glass vases.

The first picture is beautiful, I'm definitely trying a variation of the design!

Rick Roberts- If you're anywhere near a Chinatown these figurines are commonly sold in stores that sell both decorative and household wares. In CA the bigger Ranch 99 supermarkets sell them too.

Pearl River online has various ones but not exactly the same as the one in the picture.

Awesome inspiration. I'm doing the exact same thing with slipping the cards into a mirror frame.

The tiny, vintage ornaments are lovely. And those round glass vases are so cheap at a flower wholesale outlet!
