These beautiful photos of the waterways in this home had us completely mesmerized for a few minutes. Crystal clear water and a gondola, plants cascading down the brick walls, and the gorgeous arches create an out of this world setting.

We have a hard time imaging what it would be like relaxing in these surroundings. A peaceful retreat from the chaos of this world. The most perfect place to be in on a sunny afternoon with good company and a glass of wine.
We came across this beautiful place on Dress, Design, & Decor.

I find it crass. It reminds me of The Venetian Hotel's gondola monstrosity.

I had the opposite reaction to jeffnyc.
I found it relaxing, calm and beautiful
The natural light streaming in is really beautiful. And I love quiet, restful places with water around me...

Oh, I think it's delightful! Is it in Venice? It looks so modern and clean (the bricks look cleaner than Venitian bricks).

Lovely. I love the water and the trailing plants. I would definitely find it soothing.

No, the canals in Venice (the little ones at least) are much stankier. This looks like a pool.

There is nothing crass about it. Beauty like that is disappearing every day. Why deny someone who seeks to make their own?
The real beauty is in how smiple it is. It could have turn out far worse.

It looks like something from Persia or the Alhambra or a desert oasis. Actually, according to the source, it is a rainwater tank, so it is functional as well as beautiful.

I am OBSESSED with pools that come directly up to living spaces like this. It's just so cool.

Damn. I was hoping it was a hotel, so I could go stay there. This is BEAUTIFUL. It exudes peace and cool shadows with hot sun.

Why is it that the first comment on AT is often negative??
I love this, it's breathtakingly calm and beautiful.

Oh my god. The ultimate calm. And did you see the roof terrace and bedrooms in the additional shots with the Veranda article? I love the whole thing.

Guys... it's just not my aesthetic. I rarely leave negative comments... have a look at my profile.

A little slice of heaven. Thanks, Morina, for searching out the location and including a useful link ... wish it had been included in the post! (the orig. link did not immediately lead to any further info)
