Before and After: Ana's Landing Strip

10-28-ana1.jpg
before
We have landing strips on the mind. This morning we spotted Ana's: Her first version was made from brackets and an "As Is" cupboard door from IKEA...

after
Her second version is a wider, longer, brighter cupboard door, again from IKEA, for $3. Sometimes all you need is a little bit more space -- and a pop of color.

Nice to see that the boyfriend survived the makeover.

I don't mean to sound rediculous, but how many articles are going to be published simply because someone hangs a shelf near their door and calls it a landing strip?

it's a shelf, it holds mail and keys....etc.

tah-dah.

Somebody. Please visit urbandictionary before you start talking about a woman's "landing strip."

michael9246--

It is sometimes the smallest, most mundane change in a home that can turn it from a place you regret into a place you love. I think these small case studies can be highly motivational.

And if you have never been a landing strip person (pardon the expression, john m!), you have no idea how much of a change it can make in your entire home.

Yeah, it took my non-AT friends and roommates a long while before they let me talk about my "landing strip" design without instinctively raising eyebrows.
