Before and After: AphroChic's Home Office Makeover

10-15-08 aphrochic office before.jpgWe were very impressed by this home office makeover. The space was originally a large storage space, brimming with boxes. And now...

10-15-08 aprochi office after.jpgIt is gor-geous! The sparkly Moroccan rug is perfection (where can we get one?), and the mixture of colors enlivening. 10-15-08 aphrochic office desk.jpgThe opposite wall still has that beautiful wallpaper, which works well with the orange pops around the room. We'd have a hard time leaving if this was where we worked. For more beautiful photos and information on her office style contest, visit the AphroChic website.

Oh, quick hocking yourself. I can live with a link, but that's a mini bio.

I think Viva Terra has that rug. It's actually a Moroccan Wedding Quilt. I like it- but I would use it on a bed.

I really like the wall paper and I think the individual pieces are cool, it just doesn't seem to all flow together.

I definitely welcome all of your comments. The rug is a Moroccan wedding blanket I received from the wonderful Maryam in Marrakesh. Although I would have loved to use it as a blanket for my bedroom (and that was the original intent), it's very heavy, and really works better as a rug for me.

The wallpaper is actually wrapping paper that I purchased at Border's. My hubbie and I just nailed it to the wall with some finishing nails, and it really came out great.

For some, all of these things may not go together, but for me they do. I love French antiques, and definitely want to have my culture reflected in my decor as well. That's what I was going for, and I think I achieved a space that is uniquely me.

Come on over and visit the contest! Thank you Lily and everyone at AT SF.

Love it! Totally welcoming with a touch of the exotic. Can you come do my closet? :)

Thank you Mrs.Mack! Seriously, this trend of of people spamming the AT comments with their blog URLs is getting majorly annoying.

Maryam of "My Marrakesh" is now full on selling rugs and blankets at http://moroccanmaryam.typepad.com/ -- you have to inquire about prices.

That said, the room feels kind of cluttered to me.
