Usually blue and white stripes call to mind some sort of nautical theme - not a decorating statement we'd like to make. But tweak the blue from navy to aegean and the stripes take on a Mediterranean flair, as seen here.
Blue and White Stripes
We're still having a bit of a thing for white walls, which when paired with bright blue feel like a crisp, clean ocean breeze. The dark, traditional wood furniture keeps the room from feeling too sparse, and again echos the Mediterranean influence.

More of a modernist myself, but the side table is a nice statement with the intricate woodwork. The door is pretty cool too. Looks heavy!
