Seattle Homes & Lifestyles: November 2008

This Laurelhurst home was chosen as Seattle Homes & Lifestyles' Home of the Year, and its bright, white, green and blue color palette and Asian accents help us believe the choice was a good one.

Our impression of Laurelhurst is that the homes are huge, and the prevailing style might be a little more stodgy than our tastes. But Matt and Donna Bellew's home shows us up — it's more aerie-like and functional than all-for-show.

Oh man...as a child I would have given my eye teeth to have a bed in an alcove like the one above. I don't think the house is "stodgy" at all. I think it's light and refreshing and fun!
