Color Inspiration: Walls in Ocean Hues

We love all shades of deep blue and green, but painting a whole room such a saturated color can be a bit intimidating. But after seeing these images of beautiful rooms covering the whole color spectrum of the ocean, we're feeling like we might want to take the plunge...

Ranging from brighter green and teal to muted deep purple and gray-blue, each knockout shade manages to add major drama to the spaces without them being overwhelmed.

I think mixing shades of any one basic color can end up with great results if planned carefully. This particular blue group is wonderful.

Wow! I love the colours and they work, but I am worried. Do these pictures mean we are allowed to have colour and furniture again or are we still trapped in Zen-like minimalist nothingness?

I have a dream of painting a room slate blue when we get a house, but I have to make sure the natural light is right.

The colors of these rooms really strike a deep chord in me, particularly the shade of blue in the room with the zebra rug. Does it make anyone else think Civil War period? It's moody, restful and elegant at the same time. Very appealing!
