Escapes: Artisan Shepherd's Hut

8-17-artisan hut1.jpg

We don't have sheep, but we so want an Artisan Shepherd's Hut.

Traditionally used for shepherds during lambing season, huts were fitted with a bed, a pen for orphaned lambs, and a stove. Sussex-based Paulus Smith makes the huts for people to use as offices, art studios, retreats. Because they're on cast iron wheels, you can move them around your own. . .farm.

We think we'd like the one with double doors opening at the side, and decking in the front, but you may prefer a traditional version, with steps and a stable door in front. The 8x12 huts are built of pine, with a solid oak floor, and can include electricity, plumbing, and a woodburning stove.
