Felt Flowers in Home Decor

Now that the weather is warming up and summer is almost officially here, many of us may be lamenting our lack of an outdoor space. If such is your predicament, perhaps a few pieces inspired by nature's abundance may be just the ticket for your home. We're particularly taken with these creations featuring piles of freshly-cut (from felt, that is) flowers...

Of course potted plants and bouquets of flowers are the best way to bring the outdoors inside, but for an extra oomph we'll take any one of these gorgeous pieces, gladly.
Flora Pouf from Modern Dose for $549
Lana Wool Ottoman from Modern Dose for $395, as seen in this month's Metropolitan Home
Tord Boontje's Field of Flowers rug from Propeller for $4,670-$6,860
Rock Garden Cushion from Be Sweet (check here for stores)
Succulent Cushion from Be Sweet (click here for available stores)

I love how playful these are. Too bad they are out of my price-range. I wonder if I could recreate these somehow?

tracipants, i'm glad you asked! there are actually a lot of tutorials on the web for creating felt flowers. google "felt flower tutorial" or "how to make felt flowers" and you should come up with a few. then maybe sew them on whatever you'd like to "florify" :)

I just finish oval ottoman with flowers on the top! I used suede fabric instead of felt, and drew lives with fabric paint. Will post picture tonight.

...all the pet hair that will get trapped in amongst the flowers, and the crumbs...

(my thoughts when I contemplate Tord Boontje's rug...)

Oh gosh these are just beautiful!!! I wonder if there will be any affordable knock offs..................or a way to duplicate it with a DIY??? I'll check out the possibilities at the craft store.
