Furnishing a Stair Landing

We live in an apartment and stairs are something found only in the building's common areas. But if you live in a small home with stairs of your own, you might find that the landing has a little extra space where you can create quite a statement...

Just a few square feet is all that's needed for a little retreat on a stair landing. Furnish it with a small chair to make a cozy retreat, or bookshelves to add a little storage, or even a grandfather clock, making the landing into a place for displaying something special.

It is official - I am obsessed with that first one. Where are those amazing lights from?

There's that darn tree in a bottle again!

If I had that much extra space, I'd sublet it out.

Eliza - I'm pretty sure those are the Niche Modern pendant lights:

I've been coveting them for years, but alas, cannot afford!

I love the first one, but the best thing about it as I stare at it is the gigantic branch. You can only cut branches that big from your trees so many times before the tree is either dead or horrifically lopsided.

They save their best branches for photo shoots.
