Hole Houses by Hutchison & Maul Architecture

Wait a minute - what are we looking at here? Would you guess it's a farmhouse?...

An architectural experiment by Seattle's Hutchison & Maul Architecture, holes were drilled into a farmhouse slated for demolition. From the architects themselves:

"The Hole House projects utilized the act of demolition to explore the qualities of light... We stuffed some of the holes with colored acrylic rods. We then had a big party, and demolished the building the next day."

See more of Hole Houses #1 and #2 at Hutchison & Maul Architecture. (And don't miss their building projects, too. Seems the experimentation pays off: These guys have created some really interesting built work.)

shame about the demolishing, it's ethereal and lovely.
