Call us voyeurs, but we love getting a peek at the work spaces of creative people. One of our favorite parts is the ubiquitous "idea board," where you get to see what inspires the individual and fuels their process. While the standard cork board works great for collecting magazine clippings, postcards and other ephemera, we'd like to know if there are any other ways you like to display your inspirational images...
This is an "inspiration wire" done by Geninne of the eponymous art blog and etsy store. It seems a pretty perfect method, as it allows pictures to be changed out easily, but also looks pulled together and neat. We slap our favorite images to the blank canvases that are our sliding closet doors. If we get sick of something, we'll switch it out or just roll that door to the side - works for us. What's your method?

Mine is pretty similar to the above photos -- thin gauge wire wrapped around thumbtacks, spanning the corner right above my desk, with ephemera attached with clothespins and such:

Does anyone know where that clock is from?

I also do a clothesline style, but with thin organza ribbon and not pulled as taut so it drapes more (three nails).

Colored embroidery floss plus tiny clothespins (from a craft store) is how I love to display holiday cards. It looks a bit less frumpy that way. I love the idea of it as an all-year-around display, though.
And that cabinet is what dreams are made of.

That cabinet is most definitely what dreams are made of...especially to a student who needs a place to store all of her drafts. ^_^ And paint brushes, and art pieces! Flat files are so expensive. *sigh*
I love this idea, I normally just taped stuff to my wall and that more often than not ended up with ripped photos when I had to take it down or move from dorm to home and back again. I have a roll of thin wire just waiting for use and I could go pick up a back of itty bitty clips or just use paperclips to put up pictures with. A lot easier and much more organized!
