That painting at the top is stunning.

Love the black walls, but lust for that Francis Bacon painting!

You have to have a colossal amount of space and breathing room to pull off black walls. I fear people in tiny apts might try this and I assure you--the results will NOT be pretty. That being said, j'adore the photos.

If I had a Bacon painting, I'd kkpaint the wall any color it would look good with!

Not necessarily - we saw photos here of someone who painted their small bathroom black, and with the white fixtures and tile as contrast it turned out to be stunning.

Of course if someone tried this in a ranch house with beige carpets, popcorn ceilings and Levitz furniture, then it probably wouldn't be so great.
