Inspiration: Fuchsia Frames
Inside Out and Elle Decoration

We are huge proponents of the frame and art montage. We have (probably) too many on our own wall, and really enjoy mixing modern with baroque, metals and woods, and all mediums of art. We even like to occasionally leave a frame blank! After seeing the prevalence of the fuchsia frame in our favorite decor mags, we are on the hunt for the perfect shade of paint...

This first example is from a montage of small art in the home of stylist and artist Marcus Hay, whose home was featured in the January/February 2009 issue of Inside Out, an Australian design magazine.

Elle Decoration, UK Edition, even features pink frames on their Hot Shopping Wish List. We love the small but bold pop of color that a single blushing frame can add to a grouping of art. This concept really works with any bright color, but we are very keen on the hot pink--it reminds us of a pair of satin Converse shoes we had when we were eight...but that's neither here nor there.

This last example is a photograph of the home of Mariu de Andreis that is featured in the March 2009 edition of Elle Decoraton, UK Edition. A very small piece in pink rests on top of the fireplace mantle in a room dominated by subtle color.
