There's always inspiration to be found in hotels; since they earn a lot of cache from their look and feel, the budgets are oftentimes gargantuan to allow for a lot of cool stuff. It's great to look at, but unfortunately pretty difficult to replicate in your own home (unless you have a design manufacturer on speed dial). But what we love about this budget hotel in Japantown is that a lot of the ideas seem within reach...
We don't know where the faux bois rug is from (though there's a similar version here), but the furniture in this room seems like it would be easy to replicate, and the headboard could make a great diy project.
The lobby has a similar, simple-yet-interesting design, and we can't help but fall for any room with our favorite color combo of orange and jade. We also admit we're pretty intrigued by what exactly the sofa/beanbag thing is made out of - any guesses?
We've also got to stop by the hotel's restaurant, Mum's, sometime. The food sounds great, and we're coveting those lighting fixtures, most definitely. They look really familiar but we can't remember from where - anyone know?

They should use that hotel picture on their website, I bet they'd sell more. Nice pendants and I really like the bed.

I just stayed here for over a week a few days ago. I love it - very cool hotel. Its my go to place in San Fran - I hate staying downtown. Love Japantown!
