Inspiration: Origami Balloon Lights

We used to make these in grade school, so not only is this idea genius, it's nostalgic as well. We used to fill these up with water (and chuck them at each other), but inflate with air and pop onto a light-string bulb and you've got something far more mature.

Hop on over to Folding Trees for a tutorial that includes a visual step-by-step for the whole origami deal.

I saw these on Instructables the other day and am actually holding a crafting sesh with a bunch of my girls just to make these most awesome Origami Lights. Seems like it would be a good group project and, of course, an excuse to blab with the ladies and consume copious amounts of froo froo cocktails. Can't wait!

Awesome! I used to make those. Even without the lights they could be strung into fun garlands. (Though I bet there would be lots of superfunmess if my cats got ahold of one. Light and crinkly and boppable.)
