Look!: Colorful Dining Display at Room & Board

6-6-randbcolors.jpgWe stopped by the San Francisco Room & Board yesterday to grab some fabric swatches, and since we had some time to kill, decided to wander around the store. This colorful dining display caught our eye immediately. Yes, it's maybe a little over the top for home use, but the basic ideas behind it could make for a stunning dining room.

Consider the components, all of which pull from the same color group:
  • colorful pottery centerpiece
  • multi colored chairs
  • multiple pendants hanging above the table at different heights
While we do love the store's version, we know that there are a thousand possible variations of this. Just pick a few of your favorite colors and go for it.

Nice store display, but IMHO it looks a bit cluttered for home.

I actually really like the idea of the lamps hanging above the table...

At one time a had four series 7 chairs in different colors (rose, turquoise, lime and magenta) around my white piet hein table in the kitchen ..with an aalto vase with different color gerber daises or filled with lemons..it was just the right amount of color in a all white kitchen, it was very happy looking. I could not go with the different hanging pendents, that would make me crazy.

it's not meant to be a suggestion for something to directly translate to your home :). It is just showing you the same chair in some of the different color possibilities and some of the shades they have. The Oak Brook store actually displays the dining set in a more attractive fashion...this person went a bit overboard. I love Room & Board...I am currently saving to buy the York sectional and chaise and desperately wish I had a way to use their great shades!
