Marrakech Beauty: Red & Green Color Combo

We posted about red and green color combinations previously on Apartment Therapy. This time we came across an amazing house in Marrakech that has been beautifully renovated and decorated in red and green color scheme. It can be a difficult combination to work with, but when done right it can create unexpected and wonderful results.

The features of the house are the staples of Moroccan architecture. Beautiful tiles in the courtyard and on the walls look great with the green doors and window frames. Plants in the courtyard are in a perfect harmony with the color theme of the house. Inside modern pieces are paired with more traditional Moroccan furniture. In the office Saarinian inspired chair and Noguchi lamp look great next to a cabinet decorated with willow branches. In the bedroom beautiful tiles decorate the floor that is partially covered with a red rug for warmth and comfort. The Harry Bertoia Diamond chair looks great paired with a traditional side table and embroidered bed throw. The sunny patio has its own color scheme. It features hand-made furniture and bench seating covered in patterned fabric.

The red and green color combination might be less common and more daring, but it feels fresh and full of energy. It could work well even on a much smaller scale. A bathroom, kitchen, or patio would be great places to start with.

Kyle's place on AT Boston (especially in the first tour) has a really similar combination -- I really like it.
