Nick's Cove Cottages

For the first day of Escapes Month, we thought we'd share a place that's long been on our list of possible weekend jaunts. Located on Tomales Bay, Nick's Cove is a collection of 1930's bungalows and a roadhouse on State Route 1 that have been recently restored to become relaxed luxury lodging...

A project from local restaurateur Pat Kuleto (others include Farallon, Waterbar, and Jardinière), each little cottage at Nick's Cove looks as cozy as can be, with original details like wood-burning fireplaces and private decks over the water. We'd love to get a plate of barbecued oysters then settle into one of the rooms before the fog rolls through.

My favorite area I have not stayed at Nicks but I do rent a darling bungalow three times a year that is across the way off the highway up on the hill because its friendly and it such a relaxing location. Thanks for posting I was curious as to what the rooms look like.

Mega expensive--450 to 800 a night! Try Mar Vista cottages up the coast near Anchor Bay for an affordable version. Across the road from the beach with a great organic garden for dinner veggies and fresh eggs. Run by a great couple, too.

I also love Tomales Bay and have been there enough times to know that there is no need for antique skis in a cottage. What are we, in Tahoe? Stuff thrown in to make it seem cozy without making any sense just ticks me off...

ElleBee hope you see this just had some time to go back and read older post.

I stay at the Ravensview Cottage which is really lovely and you have three patios so each has a great view and the back of the cottage is wide open land so your dog can romp, just do not do this early morning or dusk because of the critters come out.

The owners are super nice you won't be disappointed
