We would be remiss in our attempt at gathering inspiration for our dream garden, if we didn't include a few images from the queen of domesticity, Ms. Martha Stewart. While we may not have the space, time or, frankly, desire to oversee a vegetable plot the size of most people's homes, we did get a kick out of the aerial view of Martha's vegetable patch.
Take it with a quick roll of the eyes or an under-the-breath chuckle, but there is something to be gleaned from her rows upon rows, laid out with "rigourous geometry to yeild maximum results and easy access."
True, we can't all have a plot that includes paths to "accommodate a garden cart or a pickup truck" (!) but it does help to remember to plan a bit before just going willy-nilly and dumping a bunch of seeds in to the ground (*ahem*).
We have a more appropriate guide we'll use for our garden (we'll share that next!) but might come back to Martha when we're ready to add some more variety to our vegetable selection. Her gargantuan vegetable garden may not be the most realistic inspiration for us on our path to produce heaven, but dreams are dreams and those photos sure are pretty...

I love martha. I have nothing but admiration for her. Except for that ex-con business. What a beautiful garden.

The garden is beautiful but unrealistic. We would all be better off finding some heirloom varitie seeds and planting a couple things instead of attempting to emulate Martha and either get discouraged or kill a lot of plants unintentionally.
