When it comes to staging, we assume the deal is neutral colors, inoffensive furniture and no personal effects. These vignettes seem to buck that assumption, with interesting artwork, unique lighting, and edgy elements like the pair of wooden horse busts protruding from a salon wall.

In the end, the goal is the same: to get buyers' imaginations going to encourage a sale. Perhaps this more daring trend in staging reflects the changing profile of today's home buyers.

I see a lot of interest in staging your home for sale. I say, stage your home for living! Apply these great tips and maximize your enjoyment while you still live there. I love the fact that when I crawl into my home at the end of a long day, it feels like coming into a comfortable, beautifully appointed bed & breakfast or hotel suite. Comfortable and beautiful needn't be mutually exclusive.

Maybe I've seen "The Godfather" one too many times, but those horse's heads creep me out!
