We love these beautifully styled interiors by Paul Joseph Hopper, who is originally from UK, but currently resides in Australia. His work demonstrates a wonderful use of textures and composition. The interiors feel comfortable besides just looking great, which can be one of the biggest challenges. We also enjoy the more unusual elements in his work like a bird cage wallpaper and collection of unconventionally framed mirrors.
His use of color is just so inspiring! It varies from the jewel toned rooms to pure white compositions. We came across his portfolio on The Deco Detective blog. Check it out for some more highlights from his portfolio including a few decorating tips.
To see his entire portfolio, which is well worth a visit, go to Paul's website.

Just as the colors and textures were making me drunk with desire, that gnome side table sobered me up again.

Thanks for the mention Monika!
I think the gnome is quite fun, actually - in an ironic way, of course. Wouldn't have it at home myself though. But there's lots of other inspiration on Hopper's website!

What appeals to me, even if specific items don't, is the depth and layering of rich textures, colors and materials.

I love love love the color in the area rug in the first image. It is deep and ...for lack of a more original word, intoxicating.
