The Nines Hotel
Portland, OR

We had so much fun during our recent trip to Portland that we're already looking at hotels for our next visit. The Nines, a new hotel located right in downtown, looks like the perfect place to rest our head. We love the neutral palette of the bedroom that's enlivened with pops of turquoise...

And the billiard room looks like the perfect cozy spot to spend a rainy evening. Along with the lovely decor, we also hear that the hotel has an amazing collection of local artwork that features more than 400 pieces. So if you miss the museum, at least you'll know you got a taste of what the Portland art scene has to offer. Has anyone stayed at The Nines yet? Let us know what you thought.

When I redecorate my living room next year or so, I want it to look something like the first pic.

I had a friend who stayed in that room. It was really nice as were the restaurants in the hotel but the staff was really unfriendly. If you are staying in Portland I suggest the Ace or Hotel Lucia.

My cousin stayed there in December, said it was wonderful. I only saw the lobby but thought that it was pretty swanky. That being said, depending on when your next visit is, I'd aim to stay near the river at Riverplace Hotel.

I love the living room, as well. Where do you think the couch is from?

This was a fun hotel and the price is right at their introductory rate of $99 a night ($119 on weekends, I think). But once that doubles, I recommend the Monaco for funky decor and a fun vibe. Plus, free drinks.
