apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Vinyl Wall Graphics from Domestic

02.12.09_Domestic_01.jpgWe have posted about wall decals from Domestic on AT before, but we came across a few new ones that are really fun. Some of these combine a wall decal and a hanger making them a great option in a small apartment with limited closet space, since you can also use them for hanging your jacket. It also creates more realistic effect, giving it a three-dimensional quality. Check out a few other ones after the jump...

We stumbled across some of these on the Oh Joy! blog and got inspired to see what else they have in this collection. The vinyl graphics are part of the set designed by 5.5 Designers. Their goal is to come up with design ideas that are both functional and fun at the same time. Since for many of us paint or wallpaper is not an option, these are a great way to change things up.

Most wall stickers in my opinion look quite cheesy (for lack of a better word). The Ferm Living line are by far the best looking and the only one that I feel has that certain "cool factor" worth buying.

see them all here:

The previous article on Domestic that you referenced, with a list of retailers who sell this in the U.S. is nearly 2 years old. Is it possible some of those stores no longer sell Domestic, have limited selection, or that stores may have been added to the list since then?

I don't know why this information isn't kept on their site, like a normal company. I was expecting such a link, but my guess is the references may need to be rechecked or perhaps that information was included on a more recent post about these stickers. I think if I see something I want, I more or less have to hunt it down by a list of merchants who are not near me, but no links, or order it from France. That's practical, that makes these totally worth it.

Wall decals are awesome. I was recently given a sample by somethinurby.com and i've written a detailed review about the entire experience from unboxing to the finished product. I have to say, i'm pretty pleased with the concept of wall decals in the home. Adds a lot of life and colour- you can check out the review over at howshouse.com
