The gallery on the Schmidt website shows a wide range of kitchen cabinet styles. From sleek, glossy red to subdued and traditional gray-blue, we found ourselves bouncing back and forth between favorite styles. Turns out our two faves are polar opposites...
Our first favorite is from the "Design" collection, in bright red as shown up top. Then along came the more traditional "Charm" collection, which brought us to number two, the Shaker-inspired kitchen below:
Whatever style beckons you, the Schmidt website proves to be a fun resource for trying out a large variety of cabinet styles and colors. Give it a try here.
I have always wanted a red kitchen. I could take that one as-is and be happy as can be (but I'd change the chairs to, probably, black lacquer ones).
But a lilac kitchen? Please no.

I am happy to see a wider range of kitchen cabinet color choices. Because the appearance of kitchens are tied so closely to a homes' resale values, I think too few people take risks in kitchen decor. It is nice to see colorful options.

Hey, I wouldn't go for an all-lilac kitchen, but I think it's done here for promotional effect. When the alternatives are the all-dark-wood with blue tile back splashes kitchens, or the all stainless steel kitchens, everybody can stand to see an all-lilac kitchen once in a while.

The all lilac kitchen would work if you have a large collection of blue and white china. Add white appliances and those dark wood countertops and it would be a bright artistic statement.

Are those little plants on the bottom shelf of the lilac kitchen? Really?

I definitely love that lilac kitchen. The plants don't work, but overall I love the look. The single color modernizes what is otherwise a sort of country look. Plus, I love those countertops. :)
