Classic Kitchens in the Schoolhouse Electric Catalog

Schoolhouse Electric is a go-to source for moderately-priced, early-20th-century-style lighting. When perusing their website, we couldn't help but notice some of the classic white kitchens lit with their products:

  • 1 Here we're loving the painted white ceiling, latching cabinet door hardware, and white-painted vintage drafting stools.
  • 2 Continuous subway tile all the way up to the crown moulding. Love the simple Lowell fixture.
  • 3 Bare bones utility in stainless steel and open wood shelving.
  • 4 A furniture-like island stands mismatched from the rest of the kitchen.
  • 5 Modern furniture and lighting with a backdrop of traditional built-in storage.

When I finally "grow up," I want my kitchen to look like the one with the subway tile. So simple, but so lovely!

I'm lucky enough to live in Portland, OR where Schoolhouse is based. I walk by their showroom sometimes and just sigh.

Really well made stuff and classic.
