Dahlia Lamp: Small and Large

0220_dahlia1.jpg

We agree with ATLA that Janne Kyttänen's Dahlia Light is mesmerizing. And downright expensive. When they posted it back in 2007 it retailed for $4,500. Two years later, the large version sells for $3,950. But the small version is much more affordable, for someone who loves the shape but doesn't mind having it in a smaller package...

The small version is 6.3" in diameter and sells for $675. Now, that's a little more doable. Available at FinnStyle. Some more pics of the beauty:

I had to chuckle at the thought that $675 was a doable price for a lamp. That said, I'm a grad student and so $675 is just about as much as all the furniture in my house costs, combined. (Oh, to have a real job one day!)

My rent is $675! And for six inches? That's so incredibly dinky.

I agree that it's beautiful, just gorgeous. But $675 for a six inch lamp?

I'd like to see a DIY of this.

...these photos are a bit deceiving. Showing the nice big lamp then waving it in our faces that its 3-4 grand...then saying there is an affordable one for 675 but no picture of the scale..whick is dinky!
