Dandelion Lamps

2007_05_03_dandelion.jpg
Disperse light. If ever there was a form in nature that begged adaptation by an industrial designer, it's dandelion weed. Architectural, ethereal, functional, beautiful.

Richard Hutten's amazing dandelion lamp series, manufactured by moooi from laser-cut powdercoated white steel, is now available in both a pendant and floor version.

Pricey ($2149 for the pendant, $2373 for the floor lamp), but with this in your livingroom you don't need much more in the way of art.

Available at Unica Home.

Unlike most of the lamps you post, I'd be tempted to buy this pendant. But the price - ouch!

Here's a challenge for you editors - find awesome stuff that more of us can afford, like in the $500 and under category. ;->

Hi Boomer,

We blog both low and high. Low- because everyone loves a bargain. High--if the design is inspiring it can often be emulated (and not just ogled from afar) at different price points. Check out our lighting archives to see the range:

Good point. Somehow I must have missed the Ikea posts.

I kind of wish the floor lamp had a single leg instead of a tripod. You know, like an actual dandelion...

The pendant is gorgeous, though.
